Tre Lune has always been one of my favorite places to eat in the area. At one point, we were eating there so often, that we even got a miniature chair with our name on it that is now hanging on the wall. You know those places where everything is so good but you always seem to order the same thing? This is one of those for me. I always start with the Insalata de Fagioli and then get a GF pasta. That’s right. They have GF pasta. As always, remind the staff to take the precautions necessary to keep your meal gluten-free. And if you can’t decide between all of the choices, Penne alla Norma is simple, yet delicious. Drizzle a little of their hot oil on top and you have an uber satisfying meal.

They called me to let me know that there were GF donuts. I called SloDoCo to find out that they bake their gluten-free donuts on a clean surface while all of their other donuts are fried. Additionally, they have a separate display for the GF and vegan items and keep the GF donuts on the top shelf to avoid cross contamination.
This week, my husband and I had a date night @samasamakitchen - their online menu has notes of what they can make that would be celiac-safe. While the options are limited, they are still delicious. I started with the Green Papaya Salad. For my main dish I had the Steamed Coconut-Saffron Mussels without the bread. These were super flavorful. Our waitress brought a bowl of rice out for me so that I could soak up every last drop of the coconut-saffron sauce. Both dishes went well with the Jamu Margarita. We will definitely be back!
While out running errands, I stopped by the newly opened, entirely GF @locavivantkitchen for a Blueberry Oatmeal Muffin. They are still working on getting everything up and running but there were a handful of items available to grab-and-go including donuts, bagels and their amazing cinnamon rolls. Make sure to pre-order online to ensure there is availability!
Even though I have celiac disease and have to eat gluten-free, I still love my carbs. So, I was super excited to see that @opal_sb now offers GF pasta to be substituted for their pasta dishes. They use Mariella GF pasta, a corn and rice based product imported from Italy. When I asked if the pasta could be cooked in a clean pot of water and with clean tools, they totally understood my needs and were happy to make sure it would be safe for me. I ended up ordering the Sautéed Chicken Pasta with a Chipotle Cream. I also had a Citrus Tequila Smash to wash it down. Yum!
The Yoga Pants salad @satellitesb is always gluten-free, vegan and delicious. The ingredients change depending on what is in-season at the farmers market but you can always expect it to be filling and tasty. The house roasted garlic and almond dressing that comes with it is particularly good. I got the salad to-go this past week but next time I may eat it there and enjoy a libation from their natural wine bar.
Happy Meatless Monday! I celebrated with the stir fry from the entirely GF @greentablesb - I added tofu to make the dish a bit heartier. It comes with quinoa and was perfect on this overcast day.
I LOVE reading your posts SB gluten-free girl! I’ve never been to Santa Barbara but hopefully you give me a few more (gluten-free) reasons to visit! PLEASE can you start posting some pictures of all the wonderful gluten-free foods you are trying? I’m always looking for inspiration to cook at home for the hubby!
Keep up the good work – – its great to see another GF blogger
